Stewardship
Giving money to support the work of the church is often seen as an outward demonstration of our Christian faith. This can be done either through the weekly envelope scheme,by bank standing order or even by cash or cheque and an offering is taken at Sunday morning services. By giving on a regular basis through the envelopes or standing order schemes the church can plan ahead. The church can increase its income if people can gift aid.
Gift Aid
If you are a UK Income Tax payer, gift aid increases the value of donations to the church by allowing the church to re-claim basic tax on your giving. If you pay higher rate tax you can claim extra relief on your donations. If you claim age-related allowances or tax credits, gift aid donation can sometimes increase your entitlement. Basic rate tax is currently 20%, so this means that if you give £10 per week using gift aid, its worth £12.50 per week to the church. One-off donations can also benefit from gift aid.
In order to make a gift aid donation, you need to make gift aid declaration. To download a gift aid declation form, please click on the link below and pass to our Gift Aid Secretary, Peter Ward.
